MIT Publishes Uplifting ‘Communism for Kids’ Book

Via Billy

The prestigious MIT Press has published a book aimed at children titled Communism for Kids that portrays communism in a positive way that brings happiness to everyone.

The publishing house, MIT Press — which is affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology —  normally publishes books in the fields of scientific thought, arts and architecture, philosophy, computer science and other “hard science”, The Washington Times reported. Communism for Kids, however, has become one of its first attempts at children’s publishing.

The book description on Amazon reads, “once upon a time, people yearned to be free of the misery of capitalism. How could their dreams come true? This little book proposes a different kind of communism, one that is true to its ideals and free from authoritarianism.”

“Each attempt [at creating communist utopia] fails, since true communism is not so easy after all. But it’s also not that hard,” the description continued. “At last, the people take everything into their own hands and decide for themselves how to continue. Happy ending? Only the future will tell."

  1. The problem with Communism is the same as the problem with AnCap and Neoconservatism (spread of American democracy and "values"): Both take a global outlook.

What's needed isn't a battle over ideologies but decentralisation, community, and sovereignty.

People should be left alone to organise as they see fit.

So, the problem isn't one globalist group or another. The problem is the globalists in general.

  2. All fairy tales start the same way; Once upon a time. Classic case of the definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting that this time things will be different. It will work out so well that we'll all have a "Holiday in Cambodia" (Dead Kennedys).

  3. It's noteworthy how "true Capitalists" will also claim that Capitalism is a utopian solution that has yet to be tried.

These people are all so nutty.

Perhaps ISIS will join in by saying Islam is something that hasn't yet been tried...

And of course all of the ideologies insist global conquest is necessary. Everyone has to follow identical ideologies, or else!

I don't believe in any of the ideologies. I'm not capitalist, not socialist, don't like democracy. I don't like any that bunk.

  4. Happy Ending, huh? Oh, they left out the part in which those who don't go along with the program are murdered, like 20+ million by "uncle Joe Stalin" and 50+ million by Chairman Mao. --Ron W

    2. Brock, there are fewer people overall in the US!

They'd just need to wipe out the traditionalists, mostly Southerners.

My question for Communists: After the bad guys are purged and the state melts away, will there need to be additional purges? We all know the real answer: Utopia will never be reached.

  5. The author of this tome resides in KarlMarxland so I'm not surprised and as an added bonus he threw in some "queer" sympathies. That must make Angela proud as she goosesteps along side the Muslims. MIT is descending into TOR books territory. indyjonesouthere

  6. Never mind that some 100 million lives were sacrificed in the name of the great, Communist utopia. No amount of death and destruction is ever enough to deter the demented Left.
