Here’s a story of heroism from the Las Vegas massacre – and there were many – that you might not have heard details about yet.
A haunting image seen around the world from the horror that night showed a man shielding a woman lying on the ground, comforting her as chaos reigned around them. He even reportedly tried to cover her eyes so she couldn’t see the people around them being shot.
It is at once a saddening image of a rightfully terrified woman and an inspiring image of a man willing to sacrifice himself to protect her.

Why is it that I am not one bit surprised? Any person, male or female, who has the courage to wear the clothing of the U.S. military with the intent to protect our constitution from our enemies, would of course not hesitate to protect someone from a killer. But thank you, brave soldier.

DeleteI also am inspired by the amazing stories of heroism--parents protecting their children with their own bodies etc. Someone commented to me that that is no surprise when it comes to Americans that have a kind of compassion for other built into their souls.
