The Trump administration has ended Operation Choke Point, the anti-fraud initiative started under the Obama administration that many Republicans argued was used to target gun retailers and other businesses that Democrats found objectionable.

Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd told GOP representatives in a Wednesday letter that the long-running program had ended, bringing a conclusion to a chapter in the Obama years that long provoked and angered conservatives who saw Choke Point as an extra-legal crackdown on politically disfavored groups.

"All of the department's bank investigations conducted as part of Operation Chokepoint are now over, the initiative is no longer in effect, and it will not be undertaken again," Boyd wrote in the letter.

The letter was addressed to Jeb Hensarling and Bob Goodlatte, the chairmen of the Financial Services and Judiciary Committees, respectively. Their staffs confirmed they received the letter.

One of the leaders in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) spoke out against the removal of Confederate statues, saying they are a part of history.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday at City Hall in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, local NAACP chapter president Esther Lee expressed her frustration with the current state of affairs in the U.S., WFMZ reported.

“I think it’s all senseless. All senseless,” Lee said. “You know, we’re 108 years in as NAACPers and we might think things would improve, but they do not. You know we still have this factor about black and white.”

MSNBC Host Asks Charlottesville Victim’s Mother 5 Straight Questions About Trump

MSNBC host Katy Tur asked the mother of the woman killed in Charlottesville, Va., five straight questions about President Donald Trump on Thursday.

Tur's first question to Susan Bro was about her daughter, Heather Heyer, who died when a man rammed his car into a crowd of counter-protesters in Charlottesville. The suspect has reported ties to fringe, white supremacist groups.

Tur then jumped into five straight questions about Trump, although Bro did not offer any criticism of the president in her answers.

Despite negative news coverage and criticism from his own party, a poll released Friday shows nearly half of Americans agree with President Donald Trump on the causes of violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

President Trump has maintained that “both sides” were responsible for violence surrounding a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville. He also called out “troublemakers” among the counter protesters that came “with the black outfits and with the helmets and with the baseball bats.”

Charles Barkley has a thing or two to say about all this statue busting – and Antifa is NOT going to like it

antifa protesters tear down confederate statue

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley trashed alt-left antifa anarchists who are tearing down statues they suddenly find racist, saying they need to calm the hell down.

Barkley slammed the liberal lunacy of destroying confederate statues around the country because they’re “racist.”

Leftist anarchists had no problem with these same statues during the 8-year presidency of Barack Obama — the nation’s first black president.

The historical monuments only became “racist” after President Donald Trump took office. Why? Because today’s liberalism is a mental disorder marked by hypocrisy, a willful ignorance of facts, criminal behavior, and selective outrage.

Report: Pence Spearheading Coup to Remove POTUS Trump: 3 votes away from impeachment?

Matt Drudge reported that Steve Bannon is out. Drudge tweeted from his personal Twitter account, “Bannon had one hell of a run..”
Now the same reporters who had inside knowledge of many other White House staffers’ departures are reporting Mike Pence is one of the driving forces behind the coup to remove Trump from office.

ndependent journalist, Mike Cernovich, who broke the Susan Rice unmasking story revealed Friday on Periscope that Mike Pence is working to remove Trump in a Deep State coup. Sources are also telling Cernovich and other independent journalists that the Republicans in Congress are counting votes for impeachment. The House is reportedly 3 votes away from an impeachment vote.

NC: Man pepper sprays ‘Soldiers Reunion Parade' Confederate participants in Newton

"If there's any trouble on the square, or any organization, we're not going to ask questions,” Jerry Poovey, with the Sons of the Confederacy, said earlier in the day. “We're going to lock them up. Durham will not be re-enacted here."

Tension continues to mount nationwide over Confederate statues and monuments, and Thursday morning, President Donald Trump defended the statues, tweeting, “You can't change history.”

Thousands filed into Newton Thursday afternoon for the 128th annual Soldiers Reunion Parade.
During the parade, Channel 9 saw that one man with a gun was taken into custody. Eyewitness News reporter Dave Faherty witnessed the incident and said the man went over to some Civil War re-enactors and pepper sprayed them.

End the Violence: Those who break the law at protests should do jail time.

Andy McCarthy has written an estimable column outlining the legal aspects of federal “domestic terrorism” laws. One of Andy’s points is that acts of violence in the context of protests are overwhelmingly state rather than federal crimes; another is that state officials’ response to the violence so far has been largely rhetorical. What’s worse, for the most part, is that the rhetoric has merely made use of the violence to make political points. He’s right. I’ll go further and say that words, no matter how strong, are no longer enough, if they ever were, to stop this growing trend.
What is needed is action, both legislative and executive, from state authorities.

Roger Taney statue removed from Maryland State House grounds overnight

Taney monument in Annapolis

Under the cover of night, a work crew removed the statue of former Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger B. Taney, taking down the author of the infamous Dred Scott decision from his 145-year prominent perch in Annapolis.

Cheers erupted from a few dozen onlookers as the hulking bronze statute of Taney was lifted from its pedestal on the State House front lawn just before 2 a.m., clipping tree branches on its path to a waiting truck bed. It’s the latest monument linked to the Confederate era to be removed from a public square since white nationalists rallied in Charlottesville, Va., last weekend.

State officials have been under mounting pressure to take down the Taney statue. Republican Gov. Larry Hogan reversed his stance on the matter this week. His shift provided enough votes for the four-member State House Trust on Wednesday to approve removing the monument.

Charlottesville Police Come Forward: We Were Told to “STAND DOWN” to Ignite Race War

Via Billy

A Charlottesville police officer has come forward to express his outrage at being told to “stand down” by the city mayor during violent clashes between protesters.

The officer also claims the protests, which pitched “white supremacists” against members of Antifa, were “set up” to allow for the groups to ignite into exactly what happened.

“We [Charlotesville police] were ordered to bring the rival groups together. As soon as they were in contact with each other, we were told to stand down. It was outrageous. We weren’t allowed to arrest anyone without asking the mayor first. We weren’t even allowed to stop the driver as he sped away.“
“The event was being set up as far back as at least May and it went like clockwork.”

At no point is the car that plowed into the crowd of protesters perused by police – there is not a police car in sight leading into the area, or out.
