It is commentary from people like Voris and observation of other institutions in this country that comfirms what Robert Prechter, of Elliott Wave International, says about the bubbles and ongoing collapse of the economy. This collapse is going to be greater than that of the south seas bubble that ran from 1720 to 1785. I highly recommend that people prepare for the consequences of bubble thinking. I suspect that this all began in the late 60's early 70's with a Dow top that when it turned down actually drove Nixon out of office. The social mood is turning down again and will take the Dow down and drive Obama out of office. But if this is indeed the second large sell-off from the 60's it does portend a nasty large scale war similar to the Revolution, or the Civil war, or WWII. The question that remains is whether this is the second wave down and whether it will be an internal or external war. Are we strong enough and still enough of a warrior nation that we can endure such a test. That remains to be seen.

I read something, not too long ago, I think it was by Father Malachi Martin, but I don't remember. The guist of it was that the Dominicans (or one of the big orders) were essentially rogue and full of , and actively recruiting, gay preists.
This is probably good for the Roman Church, now they'll have to clean out their closets. A renewed Church should be good for Europe, too. In the short term, though, it could lead to more chaos while the Church reorganises. More signs of the times.

As a Catholic (my imperfections and all) this is more evidence of the pervasiveness of evil blanketing all of mankind around the globe. But find solace in "You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18)
What else is there today but our faith during these times?
What I really appreciate about the Catholic Church is that many of the lay people and younger priests are working hard to clean up the mess. There is a bigger mess in many of the protestant churches. I grew up in the Methodist religion but left the church for all the shenanigans it promoted since the Viet Nam war. They have even threatened leaving the world Methodist body if they wouldn't recognize gay rights. Peter would roll over in his grave if he heard their morally relativist chatterings.
