The Trump administration officially put sanctuary cities on notice Monday that they are violating federal laws and could lose access to billions of dollars in Justice Department grants if they continue to thwart efforts to deport illegal immigrants.

And counties and cities that have taken money in the past, despite refusing to cooperate with federal agents, could have that money clawed back, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said. That would mean Chicago, Philadelphia and other prominent sanctuaries would not only lose money going forward, but might have to pay back tens of millions of dollars from their treasuries.

  1. Trump and his entire administration need to focus. They are under attack and they need to ignore everything else until they deal with their enemy. The healthcare fiasco is a good example. It served as a distraction while the enemy continued to build forces. STOP all other agenda items and go on the offensive. Stop the tax cuts, stop the sanctuary city, stop the immigration ban. Stop everything until you defeat your enemy.

Because if you continue to be distracted and focus on too many ideas, nothing will get done. Tell your FBI and AG to focus on who did what during the campaign. I have to believe Trump is innocent, so open up the whole investigation. Investigate EVERYONE with Russian contact. Investigate who uncloaked American citizens illegally and who disseminated this information. Investigate why the Obama administration was passing illegal classified information to the Hillary campaign. Unless they get this focus, Trump will fail. This is no longer politics, this is war. And if the Trump administration doesn't get this soon it will be the do nothing administration.

  3. Wish I could attend PATCON and spend some money to help allay the 4+ billion dollars NC is threatened to lose for not having allgender bathrooms. Maybe Sessions could speak on that controversy and lay off my cannabis oil. If I send a check for two pig-roast dinners with a little extra for shipping could I get a take-out box via UPS? May not be allowed. Many years ago I salt-cured some big Virginia hams and ran afoul of the Feds for mailing one to a brother-in-law in California. No fine, just a warning. I wake up at 3 a.m. sometimes dreaming of the BBQ sandwiches at the Three Little Pigs Drive-in across from McCormick Field in Asheville. Watched Bull Durham again last week and near the end I saw the bleachers we Knot Hole kids sat in back in the forties. It is claimed that in North Denver a place serves NC style barbecue but I'm afraid of disappointment so I haven't looked for it. I could fill ten bucket lists with places to go and things to do there after PATCON. My only regrets are things I didn't do or not do enough. Surf-casting at Nag's Head at Easter is as good as life gets on this earth. My Aurora garage is loaded with ten and twelve foot Oceanmaster rods and sand spikes and a thousand big hand-made bucktail jigs. Gotta do something with my toys.

    1. Thanks and you can order a Smithfield ham and/or biscuits plus many other items and you wouldn't have to worry about it, but not cheap. Thanks for the memories.

  5. How refreshing would it be to arrest and prosecute these Mayors under the RICO act? Personally, it looks to me like they are aiding a abetting the invasion of our country, which should qualify as TREASON but I'd settle for a RICO indictment.
