  1. Just to add, a PC that was very security oriented to run Qubes OS (The most secure OS in existence, praised by Snowden) complained paypal dropped it.

So, PayPal persecutes privacy people too. I can't find the computer website right now, but I read it from the manufacturer's website a few months ago.

Currently Qubes lists no fully certified laptops on its page: https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/certified-hardware/#qubes-certified-laptops

So, I'm guessing there's currently no perfectly secure hardware at present. But anyway there is a company that uses older technology. Around 2008? it seems hardware became much more insecure.

This is very good that conservatives no longer worship big corporations. In the 90s and 00s, I remember how conservatives revered big capital. I'd go around condemning it, and I'd get called a Marxist by fanatical libertarians.

When I'd explain that big capital is a threat to freedom, they'd go berserk. The government was always the problem. Well, big capital is dangerous, and I'm not a believer that government is entirely to blame for it.

    1. Sorry for rambling.

The faults, or vulnerabilities, seem to be intentional though, by the manufacturer. So that they can be hacked.

Anyway, I thought it very odd the privacy company was persecuted by PayPal like that.

      I do also.

  2. The time has long since come for Google, Yahoo, Facebook etc. to be regulated and licensed as public utilities like the phone company and radio and TV stations.

  3. We are conservatives and believe in capitalism. Look at every poll, the far left is never over 20%. While conservatives are always in the mid-30s or higher. All that needs to happen is not even a conservative alternative but some honest neutral platforms in competition to Twitter, Fakebook, YouTube and the others. Here on Free North Carolina a communist PBS poll shows over 60% believe that Confederate symbols need to stay. And only 27% believe they should be removed. Even the communist PBS couldn’t fudge a poll enough to show a majority want this purge.

Honest competition will destroy these socialist organizations. Why is there no start-up competition? It is clear with every poll that those on the right and center right outnumber the left two or three to one. Is there something or someone stopping any competition?

    2. Badger,

there is start-up competition. I'm warn out, but I'll see if I can find some links for Brock to post.

Rootbocks and Hatreon are two others. I make no claims that those two are respectable or trustworthy websites. The AltRight seems to use them though. And there are other websites.

And I consider myself a "distributist" for what it's worth, which was a conservative Catholic movement. "Third Position" and "Third Way" are similar. I also wish to oppose Burnham's "managerial state". I'm not intentionally referring to things you haven't heard of.

Belloc's book warning against socialism being a "return to slavery" is probably the most important distributist book. It's called "The Servile State" by Belloc. Amazon would have it. It suggests capitalism leads to socialism, which I agree with. At the least, capitalism is vulnerable to being overthrown by opponents, which is why Marxists claim they want "equality". Marxists promise they'll do anything at all (stop global warming, give women equality, end racism) provided you give them absolute, total, centralised power. And as I tried, and failed, to argue here earlier: Fascists similarly want total power. Distributism wants decentralisation. So, the movement in today's context could be seen as a rejection of fascism/socialism/modern concentration of power.

I claim distributism is more conservative than capitalism's "creative destruction". I also claim that what I'd want is essentially capitalism-distributism, not some extreme ideology. I want something that works but that pursues a large middle class, other goals. There's no sense in creating a system that doesn't work.

Brock's politely not commenting, because he's polite. But Brock's generally a libertarian I believe.

At the least, I think Hollywood's influence on us suggests we're vulnerable on the culture front. It's arguments like that which chip away at classical liberalism.

If I wasn't, my Mother would come out of her grave and spank my butt with her two foot long hairbrush! :)
