Preserverance

 Via Racine

May be an image of car and text that says 'n the inaugural heat on June 4, 1950, driver Vittie Cothron was running third on the last lap when his carburetor linkage fell off. Vittie reached through the windshield and held the carburetor open with one hand, steered with the other and finished third.'

  2. Reminds me of General Forrest who placed his finger in his horses
bullet wound his neck to stop the bleeding to maintain the charge.
Hard to believe driving at the same time while holding open the
    carburetor.
