21…and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. 22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Ephesians 5:22-24There have been a lot of changes to the family structure in the last century. As the saying goes, not all change is progress. The authority of the father has been reduced, even in Christian marriages. Now pastors emphasize Ephesians 5:21 to soften the message of the above passage. It is true the bible was written without the chapters and verses. But there was a a good reason that a division was placed between Eph 5:21 and Eph 5:22. It is because he wasn’t talking about marriage in 5:21.
Nowadays, there is a push for “mutual submission”, as if that even makes logical sense.
