Reps. David Cicilline (D-R.I.) and Ted Deutch (D-Fla.) formally introduced a bill on Monday to ban assault weapons.

The legislation, called the Assault Weapons Ban of 2018, was introduced less than two weeks after the mass shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school that left 17 people dead. The gunman used an AR-15 assault weapon during the shooting, one of the many firearms that would be banned under the bill.

  1. I do not own an AR-15, and never had a desire to own one. However, if you want one, feel free to but it. Instead, I bought the Ruger Mini-14. It fits me. Other than the look, the two guns use the same ammunition, and function identically. Mine is equipped with a nice scope and can shoot a tight group at 100-yards. I have no need or desire to own a “military look” gun. Again, just me, I think they are ugly. Give me a nice walnut stock, a bit of carving or checkering, and a lovely blue finish. Now you have a thing of beauty.

Please, do not misunderstand. I think the AR-15 is a perfectly legal gun and should never be banned. Anyone that likes their look buy one, hell buy ten.

The media is trying to use this tragedy, the same way they used the Charleston church shooting. They saw how quickly they erased 130 years of history. In less then two years they banned a battle flag and had cities around the nation removing Confederate memorial statues. They learned, and they learned fast just how effective they can become. They are using the same tactic to ban guns. Not just the dangerous and dreaded AR-15 but EVERY gun.

If you believe in freedom, then you and everyone needs to standup, You speak out and be heard. Please, I urge everyone, take three to five minutes every day. Write to one the companies that dropped ties with the NRA. Tell they you will boycott them until they stand up to the bullies. And MORE IMPORTANT! Write to every company that has stood by the NRA. Tell them, because of their decision, their company is your first choice. Because, if you set silent, like everyone did over the erasing of Confederate history. Guns will be banned, SOON!
