Murdered by the U.S. Government on this day in 1865. Lest we forget!

“I have nothing to say, only that I am innocent, and will die like a man, my hopes being in the future. I go before my God, the Almighty God, and he will judge between me and you.”

  1. Like Epstein, He didn't HANG HIMSELF! ;-)

  2. Wirz reportedly said to the officer in charge, “I know what orders are, Major. I am being hanged for obeying them.” He had nothing
to work with, no resources to lighten the prisoners burden unlike
Eisenhower's Death Camps who had resources but pure sadism was at work.

  3. Thanks. Poor guy, he did nothing wrong. Typical of what they
    do all the time.
