Columnist Robert Knight tells Breitbart News, “Mr. Pence would do well to find out what Scott Walker had for breakfast when he faced down union mobs, the media and the ruling elites.”

Governor Mike Pence of Indiana seems to have caved into enormous pressure and will ask the state legislature for new legislation to make it clear that Christian florists and bakers could be forced to participate in weddings that violate their religious beliefs.

Last week, Indiana joined 19 other states and the federal government by enacting a law to protect religious believers from governmental encroachment on religious freedom. Such legislation was cited in the recent Supreme Court Hobby Lobby decision that determined religious employers could not be forced to supply abortion drugs to employees under ObamaCare.

In a packed press conference this morning, Pence did not give specifics about what the new legislation would say, only that he wants it to make clear that “Indiana businesses will not be able to discriminate against anyone for any reason.” He said the religion freedom bill he signed was never considered by him or the bill’s sponsors to allow a “license to discriminate.”

  2. If he doesn't protect religious people from gay demands he is finished as governor....conservatives will not support him.

  3. I give him credit for making the effort. Most politicians wouldn't have even tried his approach (logic). The Left will never back down - ever. Compromise to them is surrender by the other side - they will not give in.

  4. Where were all the conservative at to support Pence. All I heard was one-sided
gripes. I heard on the news a young lady who owns a Pizza restaurant said
she would not serve any gays as she is Christian and has religious freedom
to make informed decisions. Who would want to be served by someone who
finds them revolting. Heard she was getting all kinds of hate mail and phone calls.
To force this woman to do other wise is discrimination of religious beliefs. The freaks
making threatening calls use to be burned at the stake in the old days.

    1. burned at the stake

Seriously, if dueling was made legal once again, you would see a 99% reduction in all things politically correct.

  5. The woman who owns the pizza restaurant had to close the business over threats
to burn the restaurant down. Can you believe this. Where is our side in her
defense. Communists you betcha and rabid.

  6. What is the difference between 1993 when Clinton signed into law the Religious Freedom
Act and nineteen other states have the same Religious Freedom Act. All of a sudden
all hell breaks out over Pence. Arkansas Gov. is doing the same. I guess you know
NC is weakly trying but all the Bill Ayers types have the bigger mouths.
