  1. The problem isn't the lack of civics education. It is that the people giving that education have a totally different view of civics than you do. This bill and others like it will only help them solidify their hold on the minds of children. Like having a militant atheist teach theology. The real solution is to strip the teachers unions of their power by homeschooling. If you give your kids to the state, you should not be surprised by what happens to them.

    I am seeing recent TV commercials now for internet-based K-12 education. So now, everyone can do it.

  2. The solution to the problem is home schooling !! go back to the time when we did it neighborhood by neighborhood one man or lady in the neighborhood teaches the kids or 2 or three share the responsibility.
    it makes perfect sense !!

    1. NC law allows a family that home-schools their children to also home-school one other family's children. Very lax there.

    2. While that law is better than many other states, the right answer is that the state should have no compulsory education laws to begin with. Education is a private good, not a public one. It is entirely the responsibility of parents to rear their children, not the state.
