Although one of the Dallas shooting suspects – the one who was killed – claimed not to have been part of any group, and that he acted alone, he did tell police that he wanted to kill white people. In Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke’s mind, that puts him in close enough ranks with the Black Lives Matter movement, that the group itself should be listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
“I would like to see the Southern Poverty Law Center place Black Lives Matter alongside those other hate groups that were mentioned — these black nationalist groups, the Black Panther Party, the Nation of Islam,” Sheriff Clarke told Megyn Kelly on Fox News. “This movement needs to be marginalized,” he said. “We have looked at this stuff, we’ve peeled back the layers, we’ve looked at the data, we’ve looked at the research.”
Kelly pointed out that Johnson wasn’t necessarily affiliated with the BLM movement, but the sheriff responded that “he said he wanted to kill white people.”
He continued, “We need to delegitimize this Black Lives Matter movement. We’ve had enough of their nonsense.”
